moments with my hubby and three children, family & friends updated here with some snapshots. To be remembered, to be shared and to be cherished. Intertwined with simple thoughts about my divine likes and dislikes in my simple yet divine life.

I chose to look the other way
I chose to look the other way
I could have saved a life that day,
but I chose to look the other way.
It wasn't that I didn't care, I had the time, and I was there.
But I didn't want to seem a fool, or argue over a safety rule
I knew he'd done the job before, if I called it wrong, he might get sore.
The chances didn't seem that bad,
I've done the same, he knew I had.
So I shook my head and walked on by,
he knew the risks as well as I.
He took the chance, I closed an eye, and with the act,
I let him die.
I could have saved a life that day, but I chose to look the other way.
Now every time I see his wife, I'll know I should have saved his life.
That guilt is something I must bear, but it isn't something you need to share.
If you see a risk that others take, that puts their health or life at stake.
The question asked, or thing you say,
could help them live another day.
If you see a risk and walk away,
then hope you never have to say,
I could have saved a life that day, but I chose to look the other way."

I just came back from a two day safety awareness training. So the poem above was the last piece of material that was shared with us at the training. I thought that was a good poem to share with everyone out there. After two days of intensive training, I realised that yes, SAFETY should be our CORE VALUE! Safety is not a priority, as priority can change, however, if safety isn't a core value, it would truly affect our behaviour and our actions. More than 90% of incidents is due to unsafe acts and poort human behaviour.
So it is important that we should always take care of ourselves and look out for others.

Adios to my little cube.
I have been spending at least 8hrs daily on work weeks here at my little cozy alcove for almost 5 years already. That's almost half the time I've been in this company. Surrounded by my constant "organized clutter".
Surrounded by my lovely colleagues, Fid (that's her head, she's camera shy), Zila (posing like craaazeee), Zack (peek-a-booing), Leen (in front of me) and Mr. Z - the thorn amongst the roses. Yes, I'm at the end there waving frantically as if this was a candid shot!
Bye you guys! Gonna miss you all (as if I'm leaving the company!) I'm not even changing dept. Just relocating to a different floor, boo-hoo!!! Gonna miss our usual banter and our loud, loud, moments, so how am I gonna throw insults to Mr. Z now??? Oh, yes there's the email and FB eh? Please, please, please, don't forget me, 2 floors down during lunches, "last night's leftover" breakfast and Fida's to die for Nasi Lemak. Yes, I still take orders for chips and such from the Saturday market, but it's at a fee now! Hi!hi!
This is how it looked like at 5 p.m today!
All packed and ready to go...

Terry Fox Run 2010
We often look forward to the Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research that my office participates and jointly sponsors annually. The run for the past 5 years or so has been held at the Lake Gardens, however last year there was a switch of venue to the Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. I loved the T-Shirt last year.
All these years, we've participated in the run for fun, since it's free (sponsored), it entitles us to free t-shirts, promises a good 2-3 hours of ourdoor fun for the kids, and naturally a good outdoor workout.
Sure, I do support the cancer research having had a cousin and an aunt who have succumbed to cancer. Little did I know that this cause would have a deeper impact on me beginning 2011, because just 2 weeks short of the closing of 2010, my own mother was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I shall be writing more about this when I am ready. In the mean time, here are some pictures of last year's events.
Group picture.
The turn out was good this year.
Being his cute-self.
The warm-up session before the run.
Zaim started off on wheels.
Eventually he decided to join us - running!

Yeay... we completed the run!
Until the 2011 Run.

I'm still alive and kicking!
It has been soooo long since I've updated this blog. I have been soooo very busy both at work and at home. So much has happened since my last update. I hope I would be able to upload as much as possible before year end. Not that I have much time :-) , oh well...
Well, as usual at year end Nayli's schools had their prize giving cermonies, both at the Sekolah Agama and also the Sekolah Kebangsaan. Nayli did well this year in both schools. Well done Nayli, we are so proud of you.

Nayli - 3rd position this year at her religious school.
In her primary school, she came in 2nd this year.
Keep up the good work girl, top of the class next year okay?
As for me, well this year marked my 10th year at my current employment! Imagine that? I never ever imagined that I'd be in one organisation this long. My 3rd job and obviously my longest! If you remember reading my update back in May , I posted about my dilemma of choosing my 10 years service award? Even though my 10 years anniversary falls in August to be exact, I just got the "awards" only a couple of months back. So, what did I choose? Well.... tadaaaa.... the biggest and bulkiest items in the award list.
A pewter frame and a vase. I quite like them actually. Now they are on my desk at work.

The office's annual stampede breakfast and family day.
On the 9th of October, it was that time of the year again for my office's stampede breakfast and family day. Stampede is actually a Calgary's tradition, which was brought over to KL Office for us to have a taste of the Canadian's culture. Mainly on this day you'd get to see the bosses preparing the pancakes, get dunked and also get thrown of the mechanical bull. Ha!ha! interesting eh? Over the past few years, the stampede breakfast has been merged with the family day. Everyone gets to bring their family, for a day of fun, food, games and particularly this year loads of mud and dirt! Enjoy the pictures...
We start with breakfast, before the pancakes were ready, we could not resist the Nasi Lemak.
Me and Azleen.
Even first thing in the morning when we arrived, the field was already muddy!
This is nothing.... compared to the condition of this very same spot by noon!
We were entertained by a band singing Country & Western numbers throughout the day.
Zaim catching a ride on Thomas and Friends Engines. Choo!choo!
The committee performing their opening dance - Shakira's Waka Waka!
Preparing the pancakes.
Our acting Country Manager tossing away!
JT's welcoming speech and officiating the Stampede & Family Day, with a yeee-haw!!!
Gorgeous picture opportunity, with the bright sun and green backdrops.
Everyone had their body parts painted. Nayli got a white horse on her cheek.
Zarif chose a scorpion on his hand.
Zaim too!
A Canadian flag on his hand.
I want one too! He!he!
Hana, my brother's friend finally agreed to get herself painted as well.
Like my cowgirl??? Yee-haw!!!
After the flag, he noticed my cheek, and decided that he wanted one on his cheek too!
So there!
Batman and Cowgirl.
Zaim, happily posing away to show off his Batman sign!
Girly stuff on our cheeks!
Sand art is a must must must for Zarif!
The crowd under the tent.
Tickle Tickle Tickle Mr. Hamster!
More cute stuff around at the mini petting zoo.
Tiny rat in Nayli's palms.
A raccoon.
Eeeww slimy stuff.
Zaim was feeling icky yet curious.
There were also tele-matches for the children.
Zaim watching from the sideline.
A picture with Jim Tarlton, Linda and hubby.
Brother and Sister collaboration.
When it was the adult's turn to play, I had a"little" problem.
Someone refused to be left on the side.
Tug-Of-War!
Supporter! Ha!ha!
Nayli gathered her guts and finally did it - she actually held the snake!
Lunchtime.
This is the condition of our shoes and the ground, by noon!
Lunch was roasted lamb! Yummy!
Hana was so kind to handle Zaim, while I enjoyed my lunch! Thanks Hana!
My brother.
Zarif, not to be outdone by the sister conquered his fears and ickiness! Well done, boy!
Zaim did the Waka! Waka! on stage!
Nayli tried the Bull!
Zarif too!
The day was searing hot, the ground wet and muddy. However, the food was superb (thanks to the excellent caterer wink!wink!), and it was good fun for the kids. Already they are looking forward to next year's stampede, god willing. Hopefully, the organizers would decide on a better venue.
