Not too young to understand gifts!

We think, hmm 2 years old, too young to understand anything.
Too young for birthday parties and gifts.

On his birthday, Zaim received a surprise birthday gift from Aunty Izam, (my friend at the office). Which proved how wrong we are! He totally understands the concept, and he totally loves the concept!

The Gift.

Zaim of course had some voluntary help from his brother and sister.
(Whether he liked or asked for it or not! :-))

Loved it!

Thank you Aunty Izam!!

Brit Humour - Eddie Izzard's Death Star Canteen

Just to share with you this hilarious animation video using Lego's behind the voice over of a stand-up comic act by Eddie Izzard. He's a British comedian, who has appeared in many movies, including Ocean's Eleven and some other animated movies.

I do have to warn you that this video is for over 18s and does contain some expletives or maybe an expletive that is repeated many many times. However, it's still the funniest video ever... Enjoy!!!

Do check out Eddie Izzard's other videos on you tube. Will definitely make you ROTFLOL!

Zaim is 2 years old today.

24 months ago, you came into our world.

The lil' dik-dik(adik) to your kakak and abang.

One and a half months later you could still fit snuggly into my sling.

When you were almost 2 months, you had your first hair cut, albeit unwillingly.

This is you Zaim, at 2 months! Our little (maybe not so little, Michelin Baby).

You had a slight fever when you were a little over 2 months. Poor munchkin, and yet you perservered and continued "reading" your books! Good boy!

You managed to fit snuggly into Kakak's, then Abang's old
Moo Moo jumpsuit when you were a little over 3 months.
We loved it when you wore this PJs.

Abang only fit into this swing when he was almost 6 months,
yet, you almost outgrew it as early as 3 months plus!!

Remember your first Eid, when you were 5 months? That's you in white! Sorry, we thought you were a little too young to wear something like what Papa and Abang wore.

Zaim, at 7 months you became our official ducky! He!he!

You start playing dressing up, early huh?

Remember your first trip to the beach when you were just 7 months?

What about your trip to the zoo a month after?

This picture was taken on your 1st Birthday party a year ago!

You took your first step soon after!

Last year, when you were a year and 3 months, you celebrated Eid in style eh?
All matchy with your abang.

At one and a half months, you discovered the joy of a beach holiday!
Since then your have progress tremendously from a little baby to...

Zaim, who loves to exercise.

Zaim, who loves his milk.

Zaim, the devout muslim!

Zaim, the handy helper and greenfinger.

Zaim, the cat lover.

Zaim, the speed racer.

A never seen before video of you on your automobile.

Zaim, the food lover.

Zaim, the avid reader.

Looking forward to seeing what other things you'd be learning and mastering in this coming year. Just to let you know, Mama, Papa, Kakak and Abang love you to bits.
Happy 2nd Birthday Zaim, we have enjoyed the past 24 months tremendously!

Facebook for kids.

If you are one of those parents who have (like me and hubby) yet to warm up to the idea of kids having an FB account, do check this new platform - Togetherville that has just recently been launched. It is almost like FB, but with features for parents to create, monitor & supervise your children's account. It is specially catered for 6 - 10 year olds. The good thing about it is that you only need to log in with your FB account. That is one less hassle of yet another username and password for us to remember. You have to create your kids account, so each child would have their own username and password. You and hubby can both become administrators to your children's accounts.

I read about it in the papers yesterday and immediately went online to check it out. I approve of it totally. My kids are pretty psyched about it too. I guess that's because they have been pretty curious about FB all this while and have been wanting to set up an account. However, much to their dismay Farmville is not available... (perhaps not yet, we never know!!!). But then again, we don't really want them to get hooked up on that now do we?

So if you wish to find out more about Togetherville, check out their blog at

Eye need and I cream soon...

Do you use eye cream? I have been using one for like forever, from Body Shop till my current one from Sothys. The thing is my current one is almost finished and I am searching for a new one and I am not planning to spend a bomb. I was thinking about this as recommended in Women's Weekly this month. Whadya reckon ladies? Any suggestions?

Having said that, have a read something that I found online with regards to the real need and effectiveness of an eye cream here. Hmmm, interesting. Is it really true that according to a beauty expert Paula Begoun, author of Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter without Me, and her website claims that "product formulations for eye creams don't differ from those for face products". OMG!!!

Not looking forward to next week.

It's exam week next week for Nayli, my 9 year old.
Not sure who's dreading it more, either her or me.

Her take on preparing for it...

My take on it...

Well... you get the picture!

Are you a gold digga?

A razor blade? Well, readers who aren't familiar with the Malay idiom of being a gold digger - in Malay a gold digger is nicknamed a razor blade (Pisau Cukur). There is even a Malay movie titled so. I watched it quite sometime ago, but just has not had the time to blog about it.

My thoughts about the movie - Hilarious and so OTT! I liked it!
If you have not seen it, well imagine, Clueless meets Legally Blonde, just the Malay version.

The Story:

What happens when prey and predator are both trapped on a luxury cruise ship? Two gold digging girls, Bella and Intan, come face to face with three Datuks, three Datuk's wives, two Datuk's children, one private detective and one diehard fan of Bella's. Who are the predators and who are the prey? On a voyage that's full of surprises, anything can happen!

Maya Karin - she played her part well and she looked so slim and pretty!

Fazura - well this girl was a natural.

L to R: Aaron Aziz (current Malay dreamboat I guess, cute!), Fazura,
Maya Karin and Bernard Chauly the director.

For more check out their official website.

Lines from the movie to remember... Oh my Gucci!

Divine or Dreadful

It's that time again dear readers...

Divine or Dreadful

My pick this time is Monogram Denim Sunshine from of course none other than LV.

Why I picked this?

A friend of a friend asked to purchase this for her in London while on a trip to London recently. This Sunshine costs a whopping 1,000 GBP ++. Call me boring and stuffy, but I will not spend that much for this (my budget aside, of course). Clearly, budget is not an issue for that individual.

Source Pic:

So, if you have 1,000GBP over to spend, would you splash it on this?

Is it Simply Divine for you or just Simply Dreadful?

The real thing, taken from a phone camera.
A comment from my friend : like it was "Cloroxed"!

Teacher's Day Prep.

Teacher's Day Celebration in Nayli's school is today. So yesterday when I came home from work, I had to help her organise the gifts that she wanted to take to school today.

I bought the gifts just yesterday, she wasn't specific so I went on a spree. I ended up with some greeting cards, both in English and Bahasa, some gifts and additional print out gift cards just in case.

Nayli's gifts and cards for her teachers, Zarif has the exact
same stuff, but his is on June 4th.

She decided in order to maximise the number of teachers receiving something from her, she will spilt the cards and the gifts. Those teachers receiving gifts, will get the print out cards instead of the Memory Lane cards. Good thinking, girl!

Admist the cards and gifts.

Writing out the cards.

Gosh, it's tough business this teacher's day events, not to mention pricey too. Ha!ha! I must be more prepared next year in order for me to plan a better value for money gifts and cards. Well  I thought this is it for the year all sorted since I have already gotten stuff for Zarif's school in advance when, before retiring for the night, Nayli mentioned, "oh by the way Mama, just to let you know, at my Sekolah Agama (Religious School), the Teacher's Day celebration will be held on Friday". OMG!!!

Tick! Tock! Tick! Tock!

As of yesterday, I have started my "hourglass" again.
Time is starting to trickle pass real slowly yet again.

Tick! Tock! Tick! Tock!

Hubby came home on Saturday but left again yesterday.
Expected date of return: Still unknown, probably another week or two!

Good thing these babes came in this morning. Cheered up my day a bit!
But tomorrow... sigh!
