She has a booth showcasing lovely batik designs, all the way from JB.

If you ever get yourself get, do drop by Suzy's booth, if she's there let her

Chick lits for less.

Last Saturday, I actually drove all the way to Amcorp Mall to get my hands on some new chick lits. The reason I would go to all that trouble is because I can really get them at such a reasonable price.

How reasonable?

Well, check this out: RM19.90 and RM17.90, how reasonable is that?

Plus, I can purchase this adorable Book Thong here.

So which book store in Amcorp Mall? None other then at BookXcess. Check it out if you haven't. The only issue now is which book shall I read first? Hmmm...

Charles & Keith

I am absolutely loving their shoes at the moment. The shoes are affordable and very comfortable.

I have been to the store at Pavvy, many times but have been refraining from buying any since I knew I was going to Singapore and I thought it would be cheaper there.

Got these two pairs from my trip.

Killer wedge platforms - 5 storeys high! Hi!hi! I sure feel like it, when I'm wearing them. Surprisingly, they're very comfortable, and I do take the train home from work. So, there is always a fair amount of walking there. Tried and tested, my friend! This one passed the test with flying colours!

How flat can you get? What a contrast from the plaform huh? Well, yes I do have varied taste in shoes, though comfort is still super important not to mention price! This one is lovely. A good rest with both feet on the ground after flying high on the wedges.

Got another pair this week. I did try them on when I was in Singapore but the particular outlet that I bought the two pairs didn't have them in my size, I did not bother checking at any other outlets after that.

However, I cannot get them out of my mind...

When a colleague mentioned quite "evilly" that she was heading down south for a quick trip... she offered to get "anything that I wanted" from C & K. I'm like.... hmmm! It didn't take me long to look for these peep toe slip ons on their website.

I love kitten heels and the tassle. Would have gone for the safe black, but since I do need another pair of brown shoes more than a black pair, I ended up with this brown one.

3 pairs in a span of 3 weeks! So I must be off shoes for at least the next couple of months right!
Hmm only time will tell, only time can tell...

Cakes online...

A week before last I belatedly decided to go online when searching for a birthday cake for Zaim's birthday party last Friday. I thought, that's it, I have had enough of SR's cakes, it gets to be too boring and predictable after a while. Zaim's 1st birthday cake was this lovely Pavlova from Alexis, which was chosen purely for the pleasure of the other guests and not the birthday boy. A year old was a wee bit too young to have any preferences on the cake choice, I thought :-). This year, I was ready to indulge the birthday boy. The cake would be something that Zaim would recognise and love. It was a week before the planned birthday party on 28th May. I went online and whoaaa!!! OMG, was I surprised!

- The number of online cake shops online!!! OMG!
- The choices!!! Double OMG!

So how to choose which blog and which design?

The criterias that I had were:
- not too big, and not too small
- either cupcake or ordinary cake (still undecided then)
- 3D or plain square (depends on the choice above)
- what design
- flavour - easy... chocolate never fails to please everyone
- it had to be around my house so that I could pick up easily since the party was planned to be a breakfast picnic!!! I cannot be travelling 30 minutes in the wee hours of the morning to pick-up the cake, nor would the cake maker, I'm sure.

So in the end I contacted 2 blog owners.

The first one was chosen based on the design that she had, and I thought since the party would be half way from her place, she might be able to deliver the cake in the morning.

Thomas the Tank Engine. Now wouldn't this be nice for Zaim?

He loves trains and he knows this Thomas character, so perfect!

The correspondence started with blog owner Zarina of http://mysunshine-cupcakes.blogspot.com/. After a couple of emails, it was deduced that delivery cannot happen on the party morning itself. Aww, hmmm I was quite dissapointed because, I knew Zaim would have loved the design.

Thus, I continued searching for a blog owner whose logistics matches my need. So, to any future bakers out there... FYI, there are really limited online bakers around the area of Ulu Klang, Wangsa Maju, Melawati, Ampang and Gombak, so those leaving around here you know what business to get into or at least should seriously think about getting into the online cake business because it was difficult to find one until I landed on Cupcake Confetti! Yeay! So what cake did I choose for Zaim?... Do check out the party update next yah! :-)

Sagano at Renaissance.

Last Friday was our boss's treat, on Monday this week was another colleague's treat!
What a department I'm in right? Email me to submit your resume. ;;)

Lunch location : Sagano @ Renaissance Hotel

Sagano (what else could it say right?).

This is what we got much much later after having a sumptious selection from the buffet table for appetizers. It was unbelievable how food we actually consumed before this arrived. I only have a tiny bite of the rice though. To finish everything would be crazy.

Yup, everyone opted for the Lobster Main Entree even though there was Beef and I can't tell you what else coz' our eyes really did stop at the Lobster, no  one bothered to consider anything else.

The whole lot, oh except one guy who is "stuck" or probably
frozen at Head Office still, :-D.

I never resist a photo op. Shiny face, Eti? I think it's the camera flash!

The starter buffet. This side is the tempura, oysters, sashimi, california rolls made to order etc etc etc etc etc. Yes, the choices were amazing.

I quite like this vegetables and mushrooms boiled in chicken broth.

Dessert buffet.

The desserts were simple and yet divine!

There was an even ABC machine for DIY ABCs.
ABC.

My dessert plate.

Green tea mixed with chocolate ice-cream with orange
slices, chocolate & nut bar and a slice of cake.

Me and my boss.

My verdict: Simple yet Divine.

Good place, not a lot of people at lunch time, the buffet is good and reasonable I thought. Wouldn't mind coming again. Maybe you should suggest this restaurant if someone at your work place decides to be generous one day.
